Four people were arrested following reports of an aggravated burglary involving a hammer and a machete.
Police were called to a house in Carsic Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, at 12.10pm today after a group allegedly forced entry into a woman’s home and made threats.
They then left leaving the woman shaken but otherwise unharmed.
It is believed one was carrying a hammer and another had a machete.
Police were called and enquiries led to four suspects being traced to a nearby address, where they were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
They included three men aged 17, 31 and 36 and a 34-year-old woman.
Sergeant Josh Lee-Taylor, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a nasty incident in which a woman was threatened in her own home – at least two of whom were known to her.
“The call came into us at 12.10pm and I’m pleased we had four suspects in custody within 30 minutes.
“Thankfully incidents like this are incredibly rare and enquiries are ongoing.
“Our investigation continues and anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 262 of 15 October.”
