The bus company added donations to residents’ fundraising to secure the future of the church timepiece.
A spokesperson for Nottingham City Transport said:
‘On Saturday 28 January we joined the residents of Gotham to celebrate the restoration and renovation of their village clock.
‘Located on the beautiful St Lawrence Church, the clock dates back to 1898 and despite being cleaned and repaired several times since, by 2021, it needed major repairs.

‘Alongside excellent fundraising by the residents of Gotham through their “Have You Got a Minute” campaign and a donation from NCT and other local organisations, the cost of the repairs was exceeded, meaning not only were the repairs completed but there’s also now money available for any future works that need doing.
‘If you travel on our South Notts bus through Gotham, where the company was formed in 1926, ride on the top deck to take a look at the church and the beautiful blue clock.’
