‘Large amount’ of heroin and crack found in Sneinton raid

Crack cocaine, heroin and other banned drugs were discovered by officers during a house search.

The city south Operation Reacher team carried out the warrant on a property in Sneinton Hermitage, Sneinton, after acting on intelligence that drugs activity was taking place.

A large amount of heroin and crack cocaine was found in individual bags ready to be sold, as well as smaller quantities of Black Mamba and some unidentified tablets.

Officers also recovered cash, a number of mobile phones and some electronic scales during the search warrant, yesterday evening (20 January 2022).

All of the items seized were hidden within the house, with forensic enquiries currently taking place to identify who they belong to.

Sergeant Tim Register, who leads the city south Operation Reacher team, said: “Tackling drugs activity is and always will be a key priority for Nottinghamshire Police, so we are really pleased to have been able to take a quantity of class A and B drugs off our streets.

“Our teams work tirelessly to follow up and act on any intelligence we receive, so that we’re able to intercept these illicit substances before they reach people and cause harm.

“Drug dealing often has links to wider organised criminality, so gathering the information needed to stop offenders in their tracks can have a wide-reaching impact and ultimately help keep our streets safer.

“Make no mistake, drugs can ruin lives, so we will continue to act on any intelligence that we receive and take robust action whenever we receive any information.

“If anyone has any information or concerns around criminal activity in their area, we’d urge them to get in touch with us immediately on 101.”
