Nottingham flat ransacked during burglary – one arrest

Police investigating after a Nottingham flat was ransacked during a burglary have arrested a suspect.

The break-in took place at a property in Traffic Street, The Meadows, when the victim discovered his accommodation had been untidily searched by an intruder.

A laptop computer, clothing and a bag were taken during the raid on 20 July around 11.30am.

Officers attended the scene and analysed CCTV footage as part of their investigation.

A suspect was spotted in South Parade, Nottingham, around 5am on Thursday (28 August) and detained by officers.

A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

Inspector Steve Dalby, neighbourhood policing inspector for The Meadows, said:

“Burglaries and other acquisitive crimes are a neighbourhood policing priority across the City South area.

“This is because we understand the distress these crimes can have on victims who discover their personal space has been violated.

“The response officers involved have worked hard to both identify a suspect through a trawl of CCTV coverage and spot him while on patrol.”
