On Sunday the members of Nottingham Rowing Club paid their respects to Her Majesty the Queen.
In “Blades on the Stages” several of the members, in club kit, took club blades down to the landing stages and stood for a minute’s silence along with the rest of the club on the balcony.
At the end of the minute The Last Post was played and the oars that had been held aloft were slowly lowered into the water one at a time and in a rolling sequence.
It was a moving spectacle.
Sunday walkers along Trentside stopped to watch this tribute to the Late Queen.
There was applause at the end and then the members enjoyed their end of season baroque.
The club has opened a Book of Condolence which members and friends may sign with their thoughts if they so wish.
