Christopher Commander takes on the crown in his NSC debut as Henry V. Fresh from conquering America with Project Shakespeare & the Royal Shakespeare Company and bringing the Bard to audiences across the country during lockdown with “Will & Co.”, Commander is set to deliver a performance that will leave you breathless.

The incomparable Michelle-Louise Wright returns to weave her directorial magic, following her string of NSC triumphs. With Much Ado About Nothing (2023) and The Comedy of Errors (2022) under her belt, Wright promises to transform Henry V into an unforgettable spectacle.

Forget dusty textbooks and stuffy theatres – NSC is turning Shakespeare on its head! Known for productions that are “captivating,” “fearlessly bold” and “almost subversive”, they’re bringing the Bard to the masses in a way that’s impossible to resist.

For 90 heart-pounding minutes, you’ll be transported to the war-torn fields of France on the journey to the Battle of Agincourt, witnessing the young king’s thrilling quest for the French crown. It’s a rollercoaster ride of ambition, loyalty, and earth-shattering battles that will keep you on the edge of your seat (or blanket). Typically of Shakespeare, there’s a good dose of riotous comedy and lush romance to tickle everyone’s tastebuds.

From bustling marketplaces to serene churchyards, from Nottingham’s Victoria Embankment to the Castle Rock Brewery – Shakespeare has never looked so good. Rain or shine, the show goes on. Bring your friends, pack a picnic, pop some bubbly, and settle in for the theatrical event of the summer.
