It is a relatively quiet start across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire this morning, with no fresh major collision or motorway closure showing up in the checks carried out shortly before 06:00.
No significant new incident is currently being reported on the M1 through Nottinghamshire, A1, A46 or A52.
Roads: Drivers should nevertheless expect disruption from the extensive programme of summer roadworks. In Rushcliffe alone, 24 restrictions and closures are scheduled during the week beginning 3 August, covering locations including West Bridgford, East Leake, Keyworth, Radcliffe-on-Trent and surrounding villages.
National Highways also continues to have maintenance and improvement schemes under way across the East Midlands strategic road network. The major reconstruction and improvement scheme on the A52 Derby Road between Priory Roundabout and the QMC is now largely complete, although finishing work remains.
Rail: No major new disruption affecting Nottingham has been identified in this morning’s check of East Midlands Railway service updates.
There is, however, an important warning for tomorrow, Saturday 8 August. RMT members are due to strike and EMR will operate a significantly reduced timetable, with services beginning at around 07:00 and finishing earlier than normal. First Class will also be temporarily declassified on affected services. A further strike is scheduled for Saturday 15 August.
Trams: No fresh major network-wide disruption has been identified for Nottingham Express Transit at the time of this morning’s check.
Buses: No major network-wide disruption has been identified this morning, although passengers may encounter diversions associated with the continuing roadworks around Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
