The man’s family are being supported by specially-trained officers.

There will continue to be an increased police presence in the area as investigations continue.

Chief Superintendent Nick Waldram said:

“Our thoughts remain with the man’s family during this incredibly difficult time. They are being supported by specially trained officers.

“Detectives are already working to understand exactly what happened in the moments before, during and after this incident.

“They want to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything which could assist our inquiries.

“No matter how insignificant you think your information may be, we want to hear from you.

“People in the area will understandably be concerned, but we currently believe this to be an isolated incident with no wider risk to the public.

“We know the impact this incident will have on the local community and therefore will be increasing patrols to provide reassurance while inquiries continue.”
