Rushcliffe Proclamation of King Charles III takes place in West Bridgford today

Rushcliffe residents are invited to view and listen to The Mayor of Rushcliffe, Cllr Tina Combellack, announcing the Proclamation of the Accession of the new monarch, King Charles III this weekend.

The event is open to the public who can listen to this official announcement on the Croquet Lawn, Central Avenue, West Bridgford, NG2 5GQ on Sunday September 11 at 3pm and then join a rendition of the national anthem.

Locally, the High Sheriff will proclaim the new King on the banks of the River Trent at County Hall in West Bridgford at 1pm on Sunday 11 September, prior to the Rushcliffe event.

Following Her Majesty The Queen’s passing, The Mayor started the first book of condolence and laid the first flowers in the Borough earlier today (Friday) followed by Consort Cllr Neil Clarke and Chief Executive Kath Marriott at the same site in the town centre.
