Severe traffic congestion in and around Nottingham city centre is causing major delays to bus services today, with several trentbarton routes being cut short.
The operator said ongoing demolition works on Maid Marian Way were making it particularly difficult for buses to get into and around the city centre, with heavy congestion affecting surrounding roads.
As a result, a number of services will terminate at Broad Marsh Bus Station until further notice and will not serve Friar Lane, Beastmarket Hill or Mount Street.
The affected services are:
- mainline – Broad Marsh Bay 6
- skylink Nottingham – Broad Marsh Bay 3
- skylink express – Broad Marsh Bay 2
- the cotgrave – Broad Marsh Bay 8
- the keyworth – Broad Marsh Bay 5
The i4 and indigo services will continue to serve Friar Lane as normal.
trentbarton said severe delays and short-notice cancellations were also being experienced across the affected routes as congestion continued to increase journey times.
Passengers travelling into Nottingham are being advised to allow extra time and check the latest service information before setting off.
The disruption comes as major changes remain in place around Maid Marian Way during demolition works, with traffic restrictions affecting one of the main routes through the western side of Nottingham city centre.
