A suspected shoplifter was detained by passing police officers after more than £1,000 worth of cosmetics were stolen from a shop in Mansfield.
PCSOs spotted two suspects running from Boots in St Peter’s Retail Park at about 2.30pm on Monday, 24 November.
A description was passed over the airwaves and a suspect was soon located on Portland Street by officers in an Armed Response Vehicle.
The officers quickly apprehended the suspect and took him to the ground.
Multiple items were later found discarded nearby and returned to the store.
Claudiu Niculae, aged 20, has been charged with theft and bailed to appear at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on 10 December.
A 14-year-old girl arrested in connection with the same offences has also been released on bail.
Both suspects are forbidden from entering the retail park.
