Officers believe the thefts were linked as similar descriptions of the offender were provided in both incidents.

Following inquires, a 48-year-old man was arrested later the same evening on suspicion of committing two robberies.

He was taken into custody for questioning and later bailed pending further investigation work.

Detective Chief Inspector Claire Gould, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“Both these robberies were unpleasant experiences for the victims involved to go through.

“Thankfully they were not seriously injured but we never underestimate the emotional impact this sort of incident can have on people.

“By working swiftly and effectively with witnesses, a suspect was quickly identified, located and arrested – and I’d like to thank the members of the public who assisted officers with their inquiries in the aftermath of these two incidents.

“Whilst the arrest is an important step in the investigation, we still want to hear from anyone with any information or relevant footage who has not yet spoken to an officer.”

Anyone who can assist should call police on 101, quoting incident number 631 of 26 April 2025, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
