Severn Trent has issued the latest situation on the burst water pipe at Clifton Bridge.
Supplies are affected in Keyworth, Edwalton, West Bridgford, Compton Acres, Gamston and Clifton. Post codes NG2 NG12 NG11.
Severn Trent said at 5:57 pm 14 August:
‘We’ve been made aware that a third party, not connected to Severn Trent, has accidentally damaged one of our larger pipes in Nottingham, and this is affecting the water supply for some of our customers. Our teams went straight out to site to investigate the extent of the damage and are now working really hard to try and restore water supplies as soon as possible.
‘We’re moving water around the network to bring supplies back into the area, but this is a really big network and it will take a while to refill. We hope that everything will be back to normal later on this evening.
‘Once your water returns you may notice it is slightly discoloured, this is nothing to worry about and will clear on its own. We’ll know more once the teams have had chance to fully assess the situation on site.
‘Thank you for your patience as we work on fixing the damaged pipe and getting things back to normal.’
