The field off the A52 caught fire during harvesting activity on Friday 12 August.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue attended a blaze in a crop field near the cemetery.
A witness told the Wire that harvesting work was b being carried out on the field, it is thought that the activity or machinery may have sparked a fire. Workers did their best to beat the fire down as the service arrived.
The operation of the cemetery is unaffected.
A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said:
‘We were called at 12:36 on Friday 12 August to a fire in a crop field near to Wilford Hill Cemetery.
‘Two crews from Stockhill and two crews from London Road attended.
‘Firefighters used two beaters and two hose reels to damp down the area.
