A family fun day is being held at The Plough Inn, Hickling Basin, to raise money for the Proper Playground Project.
The event will take place on Saturday 15 August 2026 and promises a full day of family entertainment, attractions, stalls and activities, with all proceeds going towards creating a bigger and better playground for local children.
Confirmed attractions include an inflatable fun zone with a giant bouncy castle, giant slide and inflatable obstacle course, alongside Past & Present Power, which will feature a steam engine and modern tractor display.
There will also be family entertainment from Mr Twister Magic Balloon Man, live music throughout the day, and a range of stalls, games and community attractions.
Organisers are also appealing for volunteers, stall holders and community groups to get involved.
They are particularly looking for coconut shy operators, traditional fete games, stocks and village attractions, face painters, stall holders, musicians, entertainers, Scouts, Guides, community groups and volunteers to help on the day.
A spokesperson for the event said: “Have you got something fun hidden away in a garage, shed or village hall? Then we’d love to hear from you.”
Anyone who would like to get involved can contact the organisers by emailing hello@ploughinnhickling.com or calling 01664 822225.
The event will be held at The Plough Inn, Hickling Basin.
