Rushcliffe communities come together to celebrate The Queen’s historic 70 year reign in Rushcliffe as part of the four-day UK bank holiday weekend from 2nd to 5th June.

Wonderful community efforts are taking shape too. Here’s what some of our communities are planning:
Cotgrave
Cotgrave Town Council is planning a family fun event and encouraging people to bring picnics and blankets to the Green on Candleby Lane NG12 3JG on June 5 from 11.30am to 5.30pm.
Live music, children’s entertainment and food stalls will be available on the day with a limited number of picnic benches also provided.

Ruddington
Thursday June 2: There will be the lighting of the Beacon on the village green, officiated by a local dignitary, at 9.45 pm. Light refreshments will be available on site.
Saturday June 4: A Royal Oak tree, kindly donated by a local resident, will be planted on the village green at 11am, during the monthly village market, by a local dignitary, while St Peter’s Church is organising a craft session for children in St Peter’s Rooms.
The afternoon will have village tours given by Gavin Walker from Ruddington Village Museum and Ruddington History Society, followed by an afternoon of BBQ style food, music by Carlton Brass Band and drinks at the Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre.
Tickets for the Heritage Centre’s event cost £8 and can be purchased from the Heritage Café.
Sunday June 5: A service on The Green at 10.30am organised by St Peter’s Church will begin the days events followed by a bring-your-own community picnic from midday, filled with live music from Nottingham Concert Band, games/ activities for the children and tombola.
An indoor cinema for children will be available in the afternoon at 4.30pm in St Peter’s Church.
Local businesses The Frame Breakers and Ginger & Blue will be providing drinks and coffee respectively from their mobile bars. An ice cream van will also be available on the Green throughout the day.
The village will be dressed in blue, red and white and a display of life in Ruddington throughout the decades of the Jubilee will be displayed on the Green and in key locations around the village.

Bingham
Bingham Town Council are working in partnership with Bingham Community Events on celebrations with a lighting of a beacon in the town on Thursday June 2.
There is then a Lunch Party on the Square at the Market Place in the town from midday to 6pm on Sunday June 5. Residents are invited to bring a picnic and drink and enjoy live entertainment and a quiz!

Gotham
Gotham Parish Council is organising a ‘Picnic in the Park’, to be held on Thursday June 2 from 2pm to 10.30pm.
The event is being held at Gotham Memorial Hall and Recreation Ground, Nottingham Road, NG11 0HE.
For those attending there will be a ice-cream van, BBQ food, bar, tea and Coffee, playground, circus skills activities, Morris dancinh and a beacon will be lit at 9.45pm
To be confirmed are live music, spinart activity and craft stalls.
East Leake
The Parish Council are arranging an evening picnic on the Recreation Ground on Thursday June 2 with food stalls. A piper will playing Diu Regnare and buglers and cornets will play Majesty before the lighting of a beacon.

Radcliffe on Trent

Keyworth

Willoughby on the Wolds
Flower boxes will be planted up by pupils from Willoughby School along with adult helpers in time for the Bank Holiday and Open Gardens.
Wreath making – join in the fun with Jane Edyvean to make celebratory wreaths. Workshops dates and venue to be announced.
Jubilee Trail – this will be available before the Bank Holiday up to and including Open Gardens weekend.
Thursday June 2 – 9.45pm Lighting of Beacon/bonfire at the Park.
Sunday June 5 – 11am Service St Mary’s and All Saints – display of Willoughby School’s ‘crowns’ in the church
Midday – Picnic in the Park – come with friends and family bringing food and refreshments, tents and windbreaks! Tug of War, Heads and Tails game along with face painting in the Park.
Live Music at the Village Hall – Non Commitments are booked from 5pm and bar available.
As application has been made for the closure of London Lane on Sunday 5 June, subject to Council approval.

Cropwell Butler
A celebratory event will be held on Friday June 3 from 2pm to 8.30pm at the village hall and will see afternoon tea, charity stalls, children’s entertainment and craft area, dance display, dog show, barn dance and BBQ during the evening.
Tickets for the whole day are £5 for adults and children are free.
Organisers wish to express their thanks to Cropwell Butler Parish Council for their support with the event.
Costock
Costock Parish Council are staging an art exhibition in the village hall throughout the four days of celebrations from June 2-5.
On Thursday June 2 there will be cream teas in a Jubilee Marquee on the school playing field.
Friday June 3 sees a village treasure hunt with prizes given to those finding the highest number of the items and a food hamper to the individual with the most finds.
A procession of children dressed as Kings and Queens takes place on Saturday June 4 and then a sports day in the afternoon and a tea party later.
In the evening there will be a Ceilidh in the Jubilee Marquee with Fred’s Folk providing music.
On Sunday June 5 after a service in the parish church a Big Jubilee Lunch starts at 1.30pm in the marquee with attendees being serenaded by the Tuxedo Swing Jazz and with those attending to take their own food to share and ice cream van attending too.
Bunny
There will be an afternoon Tea Party on the Bunny Village Green on Sunday June 5 from 2pm to late.
Entertainment will be on hand from Special Guests Bunny Nightingale, “The Golden Age of Jazz” Vintage style jazz singer bringing the sounds from the ‘20s to present day.
Aurora Saxophone Group and other entertainment from the village will be in place and there will be children’s entertainment all afternoon, including glitter artwork and games.
Event goers are invited to bring their own tables, food and refreshments with tea, coffee and squash available.
All are invited to wear their best red, white, blue or purple, bring your fancy hats, tiaras, sun parasols and royal gloves with prizes for the best dressed to be announced!
West Bridgford
Central Avenue in West Bridgford will host a Platinum Jubilee Street Party on Sunday June 5 to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s 70 years on the throne!
In line with the national The Big Jubilee Lunch, from 11am to 4pm picnic benches will line the high street which will be closed to traffic, inviting families, groups and individuals to bring their own picnic.
They can also visit great local cafés and restaurants for food and drink or use the event’s food stalls, barbecue or bar.
An entertainment programme will then give the crowds plenty to sing-a-long to and enjoy on the street, adjacent Croquet Lawn or mini stage, including:

Regional events
A Veterans’ Big Breakfast taking place on Thursday June 2 at Thoresby Court Yard.
The event will be picnic style, so event goers are invited to bring along their own chairs and blankets.
Breakfast rolls will be served from 8.30 – 9.45 a.m and entertainment will be on hand:
