Police have arrested a suspected burglar after a woman woke up to find an intruder inside her home.
Officers were called to the property in Peveril Street, Radford, Nottingham, following reports of a break-in.
The victim saw a man in the hallway of the flat at around 3:15 am on 2 November 2024, before he walked out.
It was then discovered that a number of items, including a laptop, a purse containing bank cards, and vapes, were missing.
Officers have supported the victim while conducting a number of local inquiries and analysing hours of CCTV footage.
A 51-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday (10 December) on suspicion of burglary.
Detective Inspector Julian Eminson-Ferry, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“The victim has been through an extremely upsetting ordeal, so I’m pleased our investigation has led to this arrest.
“No one deserves to be awoken in the night by an intruder rifling through their belongings.
“The force has teams of detectives working on investigations into break-ins of this nature because we understand the impact they have on victims of all ages.
“Our investigation is ongoing, so I’d continue to urge anyone with information or relevant dashcam, doorbell, or CCTV footage to get in touch.”
