A 14-year-old boy has been charged with multiple offences following a stabbing in Nottingham city centre.
Police were called to Angel Row at around 3.15pm on Friday, 17 July, after a 25-year-old man was attacked.
The man was taken to hospital with injuries that police said were neither life-threatening nor life-altering. A suspect was detained at the scene by a police officer on patrol.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a knife in a public place in connection with the incident.
He has also been charged with attempted robbery following an earlier incident in Upper Parliament Street on the same day. Police said a man was punched by a youth who attempted to steal his e-bike.
Further charges of assault, two counts of assaulting a police officer and criminal damage relate to alleged incidents at Queen’s Medical Centre following the boy’s arrest.
The boy appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court and was remanded in custody until his next court appearance on 27 July.
Detective Chief Inspector Claire Gould, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Thankfully, the victim’s injuries are not as serious as first feared.
“We know there were a number of witnesses, and this incident took place in a busy city centre location.
“I’d also like to thank those members of the public who intervened to assist officers, provided first aid and support to the victim and contacted paramedics following the incident.”
