Man arrested after series of vehicle break-ins in Ruddington and West Bridgford

A 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of multiple vehicle-related offences following a series of incidents in Ruddington and West Bridgford.

Police were called to reports of vans and cars being targeted on driveways in Ruddington in the early hours of Wednesday 21 January. Cash, a watch and keys were among the items reported stolen from vehicles on Larkspur Drive, Teasel Close and Woodruff Close.

Officers searching the area later found a van parked in Anemone Grove with its doors open and tools inside. A man was seen running into a nearby back garden and was detained shortly afterwards.

A car reported stolen in West Bridgford at 12.10am was subsequently recovered in The Meadows following further enquiries.

The 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, three thefts from a motor vehicle, two attempted thefts from a motor vehicle and two incidents of vehicle interference. Enquiries are ongoing.

Inspector Tim Cuthbert, local area commander for Rushcliffe, said police were able to recover a stolen vehicle and other items as part of the investigation.

Anyone with information, CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 54 of 21 January 2026.
